Millen Police Department

The Millen Police Department protects and safeguards the lives and property of Millen residents through enforcement of criminal laws and safety education. The department is also diligent in providing residential and business checks.

The Police Department is a full-service, 24 hours-per-day agency. The department roster includes 10 full-time officers and is supported by two part-time officers. There are nine vehicles assigned to the Police Force.

The Department works closely with other law enforcement agencies in the area and is linked to the state and national crime information centers via computer terminals. Court Services include Probation and Clerk of Courts support for our City. The Police Department relies on the community’s support to be effective, and believes a cooperative relationship between law enforcement and members of the community is necessary to reduce crime and its effects.

Information needed for online citation payments includes the citation number and date of birth. Payments can also be made by certified check or money order made payable to: Millen Municipal Court and mailed to: P.O. Box 896, Millen, GA 30442, Attn: Clerk of Court. Questions? Call 478-982-6103 or fax 478-982-4006. To dispute the citation, you must appear in court personally on the scheduled date, and enter a "not guilty" plea.

Millen Fire Department

The City of Millen Fire Department is an integral part of the Department of Public Safety, which also provides police protection. In addition, the City of Millen Volunteers operate the County Volunteer Fire Department that responds simultaneously with outlying volunteer departments on all rural fires.

The Millen Fire Department provides fire protection, rescue services, and hazardous materials response within the city limits. The Fire Department is staffed by eight full-time firefighters supported by 18 volunteers and carries an ISO rating of Class 5.

The mission of the Fire Department is to provide quality fire and rescue services to save lives and protect property of the residents of Millen. This goal is accomplished with a group of well-trained, experienced firefighters.

It is the ongoing goal of the department to maintain a good rapport with the residents of Millen through community services. Through this, Millen will be a safer and more secure place to live.

Fire Safety Education: Millen firefighters conduct fire safety classes throughout the year. These classes are taught at schools, day care centers, and wherever requested. Our firefighters will be happy to visit your club, organization or community meeting to discuss fire safety.

Home Safety Inspections: At your request, fire
department personnel will come to your home and
conduct a safety inspection.
